Shannon has recently joined Casella to operate five anaerobic digesters which turn cow manure and liquid food waste into electricity, heat and fertilizer. She brings five years of experience from the recirculating aquaculture industry to this innovative new project. Committed to environmental sustainability, she believes these digesters will help the Massachusetts agricultural industry while creatively dealing with organic waste products.

She enjoys working on her land, gardening, raising chickens and pigs and hiking or skiing through the woods with her dog. She wishes she could have one of these digesters, a much smaller version of course, to use on her own land.
